Turkey Rhubarb Root

Regular price $8.00 $0.00

Organic, Cut and sifted, 1 oz.
Used primarily for digestive complaints including constipation, diarrhea, heartburn, stomach pain, gastrointestinal (GI) bleeding, and preparation for certain GI diagnostic procedures. Some people use rhubarb so they have to strain less during bowel movements; this reduces pain from hemorrhoids or tears in the skin lining the anal canal (anal fissures).

Turkey rhubarb, also known as Indian rhubarb, Chinese rhubarb and da huang, is a different species of rhubarb than the one you might be accustomed to eating in a pie. As some of its common names imply, this larger variety is native to China, where it has been used for centuries. Turkey rhubarb is also widely cultivated elsewhere for its root, which contains a number of tannins, flavonoids and anthraquinone compounds, including aloe-emodin
